HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF

They say history repeats itself. What happened on Sept 17th has happened before in boxing. One notable occurrence happened in 1927,  in a bout between former heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey and future heavyweight champion Jack Sharkey. This was Dempsey's first fight after losing his title to Gene Tunney in 1926.

      Ortiz  tries to clobber Mayweather on the ropes. Unfortunately, an Ortiz headbutt causes a breakup in the action . . .

       After Ortiz loses a point for the dirty tactic, he apologizes to his opponent only to greeted by a KO punch -- lesson -- "keep your guard up at all times!"
